Mission & Vision

In 1978, Fairton Christian Center Academy opened its doors to 40 students. Our guiding vision is to raise up a generation “whose God is the Lord” by instilling in the hearts and minds of our students a passion for the Lord. This being the case, we aim to provide thorough biblical instruction that relates to the whole of life in a learning environment that it is safe, secure, and conditioned by His word.

Fairton Christian Center Academy recognizes that the Lord’s command to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength is not limited to religious instruction. In fulfilling Christ’s command, we teach children to think biblically when studying Math, Science, English, Art, Music, History, or when exercising their bodies. Clear, consistent enforcement of school policies, parental involvement, and clean, modern facilities contribute to making the school a place where students feel loved and accepted and which gives glory to God. While they are here, it is our privilege and honor to prepare them to be tomorrow’s leaders.

Christ Centered Academics

Fairton Christian Center Academy is committed to providing its students with a high-quality, well-rounded education from a Christ-centered perspective. Instruction at Fairton Christian emphasizes the mastery of a core body of knowledge but adds the higher goal of exposing students to the depth and breadth of learning that comes only from recognizing God as the source of all knowledge.

Fairton Christian Center Academy maintains the highest standards possible in developing and implementing a quality, God-honoring curriculum that meets state and national standards. All curriculum materials are selected for their Christian content as well as research-proven effectiveness at producing student achievement. Emphasis is placed on using materials from Christian publishers that assist students in developing Christian values, though some secular textbooks are used for instruction and/or for comparative analysis.

Core academic subjects include Bible, Math, English, Science, and History. Students also receive instruction in Music, Art, Physical Education, Foreign Language, and more. Each student is challenged to excel academically and spiritually to the glory of God, with the expectation that all can succeed. Students have the opportunity to be creative and influential for Christ and to think in an innovative and independent manner in a broad range of subjects. A love of learning is fostered in each child.

Believing that a quality education is one of the most effective tools for influencing the world for Christ, children are trained to think critically from God’s perspective, now and for the rest of their lives. Students are taught a biblical worldview to discern the values of the present culture and to navigate it successfully as Christians. By doing so, Fairton Christian students learn to become advocates for the lost while fighting the doctrines of the enemy.

Our History

Fairton Christian Center Academy was founded by Rev. Woodson and Shirley Moore. Woodson and Shirley were public school teachers and felt God calling them to establish a Christian school where Christian children could learn in a safe, wholesome environment. There were those who said that a Christian school could not survive in a small rural area like Fairton, but God was faithful to the vision He gave Rev. Woodson Moore.

Many, many people were instrumental in providing the means for Fairton Christian to be established. There are stories of God working through young and old, rich & poor, uneducated & highly educated, and Christians as well as non-Christians. These people donated money, building materials, meals, time and labor, transportation, school and office supplies, expertise, etc. When a need arose, God provided the means to meet the need.

In September of 1978 Fairton Christian Center Academy opened its doors to 40 students that met in the basement of the little church.  In the Spring of 1982, the school held its first graduation with 4 students receiving their high school diplomas.

Fairton Christian quickly outgrew the little church and in 1984 moved into a building about a mile from the current school which became known as the annex. After 8 years of construction Fairton Christian opened it’s new multi-purpose building in the spring of 1989 and transferred all its classes to the new building in the fall.

Over the years Fairton Christian has continued to grow and reach into the surrounding community. The current student body represents approximately 8 church congregations from communities throughout the Cumberland county area. Fairton Christian has a reputation for excellent academics, competitive sports, spiritual emphasis, diversity among staff and students and is well known and respected in the surrounding communities.

Fairton Christian Center Academy was established to give students a safe place to receive an education in a Christ-centered environment. We give the honor and glory to God for His intervention to fulfill the purpose for which Fairton Christian Center Academy was established and continue that purpose today.
